How to Get More Traffic

Anyone out there who has a blog or website is constantly looking for ways to get more traffic and visitors to their site! I have found a few great ways to do this… Let me explain how I like to get more visitors to my sites. 

Google Adwords

Google has many different platforms to get your site names out there! Google Adwords is a great way to get targeted visitors and followers. Many of you have probably wondered what the “Sponsored Links” on the Google search results are. Well they are Google Adwords accounts.

How it works is people go to the Adwords site, sign up and enter their websites, and choose the keywords that reflect the sites they are trying to get more visitors to. Then every time someone searches for those key words you chose, your website will show up in the “Sponsored Links.”

For example, I have a golfing website called GolfWithCub.com.  When I set up my Google Adwords account for my golf website, I chose keywords like “Drivers, Irons, Golf Balls, Courses, Wedges, Putters, Titleist, etc.”  Then every time someone would search for those things on Google my golf website would show up in the “Sponsored Links!” This is a good way for people who are looking for what your selling, to find your site easily!

Adwords does cost money to have your sites show up, but it is not expensive unless you have a ton of websites! The way they charge you is when someone clicks on your site in the Sponsored Links, you then owe Google like 10 cents for that click. The more visitors you get, the more you will owe. If you are starting a new site, this is a good way to get more people to find it!

Social Media

There has been a Social Media revolution over the past few years! It seems like everyone and their dog is on Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace now! If you are smart, you can use this to your advantage! Facebook is a good way to show off your website or blog to your friends and other people you may not know. However, I have found that people don’t get on Facebook to look for websites or blogs, they get on Facebook to get in touch with their friends and family.

Out of all the new Social Media Platforms out there, I have found that Twitter is the best way to advertise your website or blog, for free! There are now millions of people on Twitter, and they are mostly all business related accounts! There are a few people, like Chad OchoCinco, who are just there to tell people what they are doing that day. For the most part though, Twitter is used to advertise peoples website or business! It is a great way to get a hold of, or find, people who can really help you get going! The more people you talk to on Twitter, the more followers you will get. Thus giving more and more people the opportunity to see your profile or websites!

There are also websites out there that you can sign up for that will give you much more followers! Such as BoostTwitterFollowers.com, Twitterholic.com, MyFollowFriends.com, and many more! Some of these sites are great for getting targeted followers! Others are not so great at anything! You have to find the right one for you! Usually the good ones will charge you like 10 bucks, and you will get 100′s of followers with in a month. Others will not charge you and just give you random followers, as well as make you follow random people! These are the ones you want to stay away from! Do your homework and you should do great!
